Jessica Palmer, MA, C. Psych
Hello! I have over 17 years of clinical experience working as a psychologist first in the US and in Canada. I am registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and I enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults presenting for
clinical psychological services. I enjoy providing therapeutic and assessment services across the lifespan.
I use evidence-based approaches in my treatment of all clients with an aim to work collaboratively on goals you want to achieve. I primarily use acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in my
treatment with clients seeking therapy for a wide range of reasons. Together with clients, we work to improve mindfulness of thoughts and feelings, while reducing avoidance to help you reach your goals and build a more meaningful life.
I enjoy working with a wide variety of problems with special interest in treating anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviour and sleep disorders in children and adults. I assist parents and children who are struggling with sleep difficulties (i.e., children unable to sleep alone or who struggle with bedtime). In my work with adults, I have been treating chronic insomnia with CBT-I since 2008 and I also provide corporate sleep training workshops for shift workers.
I also provide psychoeducational and gifted assessments to assist in the identification of gifted ability, learning disorders and AD/HD to name a few. Psychoeducational assessments will assist your child or adolescent to receive
accommodations or educational resources if they are eligible. Typically, schools will need an assessment completed in order to identify which services your child needs, such as an Individualized Education Plan or similar. Adults may be
interested in the assessment process if they suspect a learning problem or for diagnostic purposes. I look forward to our work together!
